Everytime i visit home, i try to make sure i stop here at least once. They have, without a doubt, the best pizza I've ever had in my life. I usually always prefer thin crust, but their dough is so fantastic that i always have to go with the thick cut. My family and friends fight for those great corner pieces just because the crust is that good. The ingredients are fresh, and they also have some pretty decent chicken wings. I've had the usual Italian fare while here at time such as lasagna, spaghetti, etc. everything has always been the good. The staff is always pleasant, welcoming, and they make me feel like I'm eating at their home. This place is a gem.

A little place for big appetites! The portions are huge and the quality is top notch. It's really good Southern Italian food (mainly red sauce dishes) and it's family friendly. There is often a wait to get a table, but it is worth it. Prices are medium but whatever your entree is, you end up with plenty of food to take home for the next night. Good thick crust pizza, too.

This place is the real deal Italian food. Small restaurant and family ran. They close down around the first two weeks of August and they go to Italy. So call to make sure they are there. We travel full time and plan our trip as to be here when they are open. We have only been there three times over the past few years but everything we have ordered has been fantastic. We will return.

This is the best kept secret north of Pittsburgh. It is 100% authentic Italian cuisine at fraction of the price. This is a family owned and operated location that serves nothing but high quality food. They speak Italian behind the counter, give portions that are so large that the 'to go' bag comes with the order and actual haven't changed the menu in 20 years. Everytime I am in Pittsburgh I make an effort to visit the Capri. The pizza is my absolute favorite. Thin or thick you will not go wrong. It's a sin to make pizza this good and for the price, it's unheard of! I ordered dinner for 7 and got the following: Rigatoni and meatballs, comes with a house salad and homemade italian bread 2 large pizza's one thick and one thin (pep, mush, onion, the works!) 2 cheese ravioli meals, comes with a house salad and homemade bread 2 bowls of homemade wedding soup (to die for) Grand total, $65.00, no joke. The ambiance looks like it's out of a 1967 classic movie, the waitresses look about the same, but all of that is washed away with one bite of the food. Make the trip north, you won't be sorry.

Something on the menu for everyone to try. Shrimp ravioli with homemade blush sauce and jumbo shrimp is my favorite.

Capri is a cute old school Italian place. You can tell it is an older restaurant but it is not unclean. We went in looking for pizza, when we saw mussels on the menu as a appetizer we had to have them. They were VERY good. The pizza was good and fresh tasting, except for one thing. I ordered the vegetarian individual pizza, which would have been perfect had they not used frozen broccoli. Using frozen vegetables on pizza makes the dough soggy! I know fresh produce is expensive, but it's the middle of the summer. This restaurant is located in a rural area with many farms nearby. Unless I found out they started using fresh veggies I probably wouldn't go back.

We chose to visit this restaurant due to all of the positive Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, our experience couldn't have been any more of a contrast from the other reviews. Perhaps we just visited on the wrong day and ordered the wrong things, but somehow it didn't seem that way... This place was not clean and the atmosphere was strange. When we walked in, the hostess couldn't be bothered to speak to us, and when the waitress came to our table she said nothing other than asking what we wanted. The salads were generous, but simple iceberg lettuce with bottled dressing. The chicken tender appetizer was obviously from a bag in the freezer, as was the chicken that topped our flavorless, watery margherita pizza. I've never paid for a meal that was such a disappointment from start to finish. We like to support local and had high hopes based on the other reviews, but I feel the need to help others avoid the same experience we had... Perhaps this is the type of place that has great takeout pizza when you order your "usual" every weekend.

Place is crowded and dirty. Waitress had an attitude problem. If you don't like your job quit! Maybe you can use your charming Personality somewhere else. Eggplant parmigiana had a bad Taste to it, I couldn't even eat it, It was awful!

We just moved to the area and are thrilled to have a great tasting mom & pop nearby. Bread was brought to the table, the waitress even brought us meat sauce & marinara to try. We had fried mushrooms to start, similar to dairy queen recipe. Which I love. Served with meat sauce. Fried whole. Then we got a personal size white pizza and an 8 cut thin with pepperoni and mushrooms. The white pizza was 4 cut. Easily could feed two for lunch. The crust was buttery and light. I will definitely order it again. The 8 cut thin pizza was good as well. A little greasy, but I didn't order it with the intent of counting calories. The waitress was great. She was so helpful. It's a real family atmosphere. The seating is a little close, especially if the table next to you is loud. This is our new go to place locally!

Okay...after several more trips to Capri, I have to say that it now tops my list of Italian places. The sauce is incredible. The homemade bread is amazing. Nothing I have ordered there has been bad. The prices are reasonable, but not cheap. However, it is worth ever penny. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. I cannot complain about a single thing. Well done!!

Hands down best pizza place in western pa. Maybe the country!!! I grew up eating this pie and I will die eating this pie. Don't waste your time or money going else where I have been all around this country looking for a pizza that taste as good but they all leave me hungry for Capri. 8 cut thick well done please!!!

Family owned and operated! We absolutely love the pizza: thin is our favorite We have had the thick, which is certainly delicious as well. The meatball pizza is excellent along with their wedding soup (YUM)! Their homemade bread is delicious: we could eat a whole loaf in a sitting. I`ve had their pasta dishes: the cheese ravioli are great. Dine in or pick up a pizza though.....it is totally worth it! BYOB!

Awesome and cheap. Seafood Alfredo is as good as any I've ever had- at half the price.

Best Alfredo sauce ever ; better than Olive Garden. It's was so velvety. Closed on Monday's. We were in Oakland and waited to eat at Capri's and disappointed to find them closed

Fantastic italian food. Cramped seating and not very private. Old and decor outdated. Overall food triumphs over all bad things that could be said. All homemade usually by this little italian lady. Best meal is shrimp stuffed ravioli with pink rose sauce, SOOO GOOD. kinda pricey but worth it.

I agree with previous reviewer. It's a well kept secret. And a lot of the pasta is made onsite. My family has been going for many years and it stays the same - always high quality and good food. Even the waitresses stay the same! Great food.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
